I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Art Therapist and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have experience working with all ages; my youngest client was 2 yrs old and my oldest client was 93. I have a passion for helping people of all ages and backgrounds gain insight about themselves while working towards building self esteem, confidence and new ways of coping with challenging situations. I use conventional talk therapy, art therapy and play therapy with children and youth. I use psychotherapy with focus on cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy models to support clients in developing self awareness and coping skills and strategies to move toward healing and live the fullest life possible. I believe in the power of healing through the process of art making and everyone can experience personal growth,
no matter how small. |

You don't have to be an artist to experience the benefits of Art Therapy. It is not about making pretty pictures or a masterpiece to hang on your wall. Art Therapy is a process used to build skills, explore and express thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-threatening way. It is beneficial in processing grief and loss, trauma and abuse and gain insight to the internal dialog that is hard to find words for, especially in young children.

All too often most of us are very aware of our short-comings and where we fall short. An important part of healing and moving forward in therapy is identifying, focusing on and building on your existing strengths. We are all resilient people yet sometimes unfortunate events cause us to question our ability to succeed and our self worth. Strength-based therapy shines the light on what you do well and your positive qualities as a human being living in a chaotic world.
